My BIG News!

I think I’ve kept y’all in suspense long enough, though it hasn’t been intentional. Running a business is extremely demanding, but things are coming along well and I have settled in nicely both at home and in the office.

For the last several years I said my dream longarm machine was the HQ Amara. I played on it every time I went into Angela Walters’ shop, Quilting Is My Therapy. And I was so looking forward to being part of her LongAmy. But after months of trying to win an APQS longarm ( they gave a machine away every quarter last year!) I started comparing their features and prices with the Handi Quilter Amara. Then when I knew I was moving to Wisconsin, I decided it wouldn’t be as fun being in Angela’s LongArmy if I didn’t live in Missouri, so I started leaning more toward an APQS machine. And then I went to an APQS Roadshow – and that was all she wrote!

I got a fantastic deal on an APQS Lucey on a 12-foot Deluxe table w/overhead lighting and automatic quilt advance! And she fits perfectly in the basement of my new house!

Here are a few other pics of the new sewing room.

The only thing I’ve sewn/quilted in my new sewing room is the orange and blue quilt you see in these pictures. It’s a baby quilt for my new grandbaby. I just finished sewing the binding on right before I started this blog post. I’ll post a better pic of it later. I’m looking forward to more stitching/quilting time in the near future!

Until next time, Happy Stitchin’ & God Bless!

My Happy Stitchin’ Space

Like a lot of peeps, I too started out sewing on the kitchen table. I did that for about a year until I got a dedicated room when my daughter and grandkids moved out.

I don’t have a pic of that very first room. It was in a different house and before I started blogging.

But here are some early pics of my current sewing room.

I’ve tried countless desks and tables over the years. Here’s a sewing table I helped make.

I used it for awhile, until I messed it up from moving it from room to room.

A couple years ago, I got a wild hair and decided I needed a bigger sewing room. And since all I did in my master bedroom was sleep, I swapped rooms.

The “master” sewing room, if you will.

About a year later, after I had had enough of going through my sewing room to get to the bathroom, I switched them back.

And I did some room improvements!

I painted the room a pretty pale yellow that looks much better in person (color is Chic Yellow by Glidden). I hung pegboards for my rulers, added a floating shelf from IKEA above the design wall for decorating and did some rearranging. I love my saddle chair!

I store my “stripped” stash and Mr. PeePotty supplies under the cutting table. Just to the right of the cutting table are my dies and mats for the die cutter.

Here’s my design wall, which I keep decorated w/orphan blocks between projects, because I can’t stand to see it bare.

There is some serious treasure behind these doors.

My books and modest fabric stash.

The left side is fabric that I’ve purchased and winnings from some awesome giveaways (mostly IG).

And the right side is fabric that has been gifted to me over the years.

I am so fabric rich!

Lastly, my travel machine, UFOs, and other miscellaneous things stored in tubs at bottom of the closet.

And so you have it! My happy stitchin’ space!

Honestly, I would sew in the corner of a closet if I had to, but I’m so very thankful for my room.

There’s no shadow You won’t light up

Mountain You won’t climb up

Coming after me

There’s no wall You won’t kick down

Lie You won’t tear down

Coming after me

Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God

Oh, it chases me down, fights ’til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine

And I couldn’t earn it, I don’t deserve it, still, You give Yourself away

Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
