I didn’t even realize I had a quilter’s bucket list until I started typing this post.    But I do! And I’m happy to say I’ve already checked something off!

When I learned I was going to KCKS for work, I immediately planned a trip to Missouri Star Quilt Co in Hamilton MO! It’s just an hour away from where I was staying.

If you don’t already know about MSQC, you can read their story here.  It’s pretty amazing!

As soon as I arrived, I pulled out my phone to take a pic of the main shop and a nice lady, named Karen, stopped and offered to take my pic in front of the shop.  Quilters are such nice people!

Karen, an Aurifil Designer and Educator, (IG name is redbirdquiltco), informed me that the 2nd Annual Missouri Star Academy,  a 2 day event of learning and collaboration featuring 25+ designers, had just ended. Approximately 700 quilters from all over the world had been in attendance!  I’ll definitely be adding the Missouri Star Academy to my quilter’s bucket list!

The shops are amazing. Yes shops, as in plural! There isn’t just one shop. Missouri Star Quilt Co consists of twelve shops! Honestly, I was a little overwhelmed at first.

I spent a couple hours perusing and shopping then had lunch at the Hamilton Baking Company.

It was a great visit but it would’ve been better if my sis and other close friends could’ve been there with me.  Someday ladies!

Other things on my quilter’s bucket list are: a quilt cruise, QuiltCon and Quilt Festival.  And I’m already making plans for Quilt Festival this November.
