The Making of a Starlett

I finally started work on a quilt I was commissioned to do about 10 mos ago. Better late than never right?

The pattern is called Starlett by Me and My Sister Designs. The fabric collection is called Bandana and is also by Me and My Sister Designs.63D80EFA-ACCF-4B9B-8CDC-52C545C64180

Honestly,  neither the pattern nor the fabric would be top choices for me personally, but I LOVE the way these blocks are turning out.45808C0D-82CF-4E09-900C-38B1C5591963

There are a bunch of HSTs which means a lot of marking.  I picked up this handy dandy board during a shop hop.  It’s covered w/sand paper and prevents your squares from slipping around when you mark them. It’s basically a large emery board. F572D366-C7B9-4826-86D6-C7B721706A42

I’ve been chain piecing and cutting. CB35AD46-D157-4C28-9195-B85A70D81665There are also a bunch of cut-offs, or leftovers or whatever you call them.  I know there’s a proper quilting term for them, but I just can’t think of it right now. C8531262-961C-4A21-8C79-35628E32F369

Whatever they are called, they’ve made A LOT  of leaders and enders. Are they bonus blocks?A8378ECB-4BFB-40CF-A1FC-40804E17CBF1

I’ve made 8 of the 16 blocks.  When it’s finished it will look something like this but w/a border.Starlett

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!
