Bound and Finished

I am excited to share several finishes w/you today!

This first one is a quilt I started for my sister’s office at her new job. A job she celebrated her 3yr anniversary at this past May! Better late than never right?The pattern is Summer Star Mini by Jera at Quilting in the Rain. I quilted it using a pantograph called Malachite by Urban Elementz while I was visiting Katy.

Next up is an Attic Windows quilt I started last October.  I finished the top right away, but it hung stuck in flimsy status until just recently.  

It was quilted by a friend, and up and coming longarm quilter here in the West Valley.

And this quilt was neither pieced nor quilted by me.  However, it is my first original pattern called Straits and Arrows. It was featured in Stash Builder Box in January.  My pattern is available in my Craftsy Pattern Shop.  

It was pieced by my good friend Sue, who gave me the flimsy.  I had it quilted by the same friend who quilted Attic Windows.

And last but not least, is a crazy quilt I acquired a few years ago.  I bought a serger from a coworker whose Aunt had recently passed and they threw in all kinds of extras. This was an extra.

Even though it was crazily pieced w/all kinds of funky polyester fabric, I fell in love w/it! It measures 50″ x 100″.

Katy took it home w/her the last time she left AZ and quilted it for me. Thank you, Katy! I picked it up when I visited her in MI.

I LOVE the backing she chose!  It is officially my car quilt for trips to the park and such.

Finding My Sewjo

I did make some sewing progress in Michigan.

This is one of four WIPs I aim to finish by year’s end. 

My Halloween Spider Web quilt.  Even though I started it over a year ago, I arrived in MI w/a whopping one block finished.

I managed to get all my star centers cut out and finish three more blocks.

About a week before my trip Katy reminded me about her longarm and Accuquilt and suggested I bring a top to quilt and fabric to cut.

I didn’t have a quilt top finished but I remembered an older WIP, not one of the four previously mentioned, that I had started for my sis. It was about half completed, so I quickly finished it to have something to quilt.

And quilt I did! I used the Malachite panto by Urban Elementz.

And I brought lots o’ fabric to cut! I now have four projects in the queue for 2018.


It sure feels good to be sewing again!

Finishes and Such Not Yet Shared

There were several months not long ago when I wasn’t very active on the blogging front, but I was somewhat productive on the quilting front.

Here are a few finishes and other thangs I haven’t shared w/y’all.

This Disappearing Nine Patch was made for my grandbaby Cali who was born last August.

This is my 1st version of Straits and Arrows, and it was made for my great/grand nephew Kyrie, born last September.

Here are 3 more Straits and Arrows flimsies made by some awesome friends who volunteered to test my pattern. The pattern should be available in my pattern shop w/in the next month.

I made this lovely for a little of a close family friend. The pattern is called Kite Flight by Janice Ryan for Robert Kaufman.  My colors remind me of strawberries, bananas and ice cream!20161126_075555

This butterfly fabric was short curtains me and a friend found at Goodwill. I recycled them into long curtains for her nursery.20170122_130057

This is an old Southern Belle quilt I ditched for a friend. It was made by her elderly aunt who passed away a couple of years ago. I love all the different fabric combinations she used.20170122_202418

My grandson started a Jelly Roll Race quilt. I’m trying to get him ready for Kids Sew Camp this Summer which he is finally old enough to attend. He turned 10yrs old in February.20170219_174638

He comes to visit every other weekend. He recently started bringing his Xbox 360 w/him so I decided to make him something nice to transport it in. I found a duffle bag pattern, picked out fabric of his favorite colors and made this awesome bag.20170228_060301And guess what? It’s too small! The Xbox 360 doesn’t even fit! But he loves the bag anyway.
