Things I’ve Made Since June

I’ve been making like crazy.  I just looked back and the last make I posted about was a scrappy triangle quilt in June.  But I have indeed had several more makes since then.

After that finish, I immediately made another scrappy triangle quilt. This one was for a cousin I promised a quilt to 3 years ago! I’m happy to say it has finally been gifted.  I had it quilted at Angela Walters shop, Quilting is My Therapy, which I’m thrilled to report is right around the corner from my house. No lie! Meanwhile, I’m all triangled out.

Apparently, I had the next several projects going simultaneously. It’s all a blur to me.

I made a couple of I Heart America blocks I turned into pillows.  It’s a free pattern from @prettylittlequilts.  I practiced ruler quilting on both pillows.

I took a Which Quilt Block Are You quiz at Broadcloth Studio, IG: @broadclothstudio.  My results,  after taking the quiz twice and changing up 2 answers because I could’ve answered either way, yielded Jacob’s Ladder.  Since I’d never made a Jacob’s Ladder block, I ended up making a couple and laid them out in the Road to Arkansas variation and turned them into a wall hanging. I practiced ruler quilting on it as well and it now hangs in my sewing room.

I FINALLY started a quilt I’d been wanting to make for myself for at least one year;
Meadowland Quilt Pattern by Then Came June @thencamejune. It was was all the rave last year, and still is!  I had the perfect fabric bundle, a gift from a dear friend (Thanks GayLee!) and the perfect background fabric. And VOILA! It’s still just a flimsy. I want to quilt this myself but I’ll probably wait until I visit my friend Katy @katyquilts in Michigan so I can use her awesome longarm.

Another FINALLY is a paper-pieced diddy I got from a Fons and Porter Love of Quilting Magazine in 2012. This was way before I even knew how to paper-piece, but one I definitely wanted to make someday. It now graces the wall in my work office. I also had it quilted at Angela Walters shop, Quilting Is My Therapy. This pattern is called Balance Art.

And more recent finishes are…

a cute little zippered pouch to hold my earbuds and travel charger. It was inspired by Svetlana @sotakhandmade.  I LOVE all of her makes and her book, That Handmade Touch is on my bday/Christmas wishlist.

The Mini Maker Station by Nicole @lillyellastitchery.  It is a free pattern and was a Sew Along that started at the beginning of this month.

Another free pattern by Nicole, and a Sew Along this month is the Undercover Maker Mat.

And the most recent make, one which I’m currently working on is my very first Quilt of Valor. And I’m using my very own pattern, Straits and Arrows.  I wrote it a couple of years ago. It’s a very simple make (no matching seams!) that goes together very quickly! It is free for the taking by clicking on the link above or on the picture in the sidebar on my blog ->->->->.  I fell in love w/this red fabric, and I got it for next to nothing at an event hosted by The Sewing Labs. As soon as I laid on eyes on it I knew I’d make a QOV w/it.

I believe that’s all I’ve made since June. But I have a long, long list of things yet to make. I’m certain I’m not in this boat alone!

Thanks for stopping by! Until next time, God Bless and Happy Stitchin’!
