December BOMs +Another Flimsy!

Can y’all believe 2022 is less than 24hrs away?! Where does the time go? We can all attest that it waits for no one! With that being said, I just celebrated my half-century birthday on December 16th. And I had a party! If it wasn’t my first birthday party ever, I can’t remember ever having another one. I hosted an ornament exchange party with about a dozen friends. It was so much fun and delicious! Here’s a pic of the birthday girl.

And here’s a close-up of a “dirty” snowman cheeseball that Madonna made. He was delicious!

Now on to quilty matters. Here’s the last block in Jen’s 2021 Monthly Color Challenge. The color was olive, inspired by….olives.

And this beauty is block 2 of Build A Quilt 5 (BAQ). I’m so smitten w/these Holly Jolly fabrics!

And last but not least…my crossplus flimsy! What do you think? My daughter’s b-day is Jan 16 but Esperanza needs to go into the shop. So the way things are looking now she probably won’t get her quilt until my February trip to Phoenix for Quiltcon 2022. Sadly, I did not win the APQS giveaway, but CONGRATS!! to Diane M. of Texas!

And speaking of QuiltCon 2022, will you be there? I’m planning to spend at least 1 day at the show with a few local friends, but I am not taking any classes or lectures. Let me know if you are going, it would be fantastic to meet IRL (in real life)!

Monthly Color Challenge

Sweet Sixteen

I finished all 16 Starlett blocks and I love each and every one!20170418_204407 (1)

As is, the quilt will finish at 72.5″ square which is not quite large enough to fit a queen size bed and have some drape to it.  I don’t want to add ultra wide borders so I’ll be adding sashing between the blocks and narrower borders.

I auditioned this light purple, which would work, but my customer prefers something in a blue tone.20170417_183953 (2)

It’s Been A Long While…

I can’t believe it’s been over a month since I’ve written a blog post!

I finally finished binding Walk Like An Egyptian last night!

I made these B&W blocks for a community project we are doing at Quilters Anonymous, my chapter of the Arizona Quilters Guild.  David helped a bit w/these blocks.

And…I’ve finished this flimsy for a commission due at the end of March!  I’m calling it Cats Galore! The border fabric inspired the entire quilt! It’s perfect, because the recipient loves cats and her favorite color is blue!

And lastly, the cutest new addition ever…my grandson TJ!  He was born on Feb 12th, weighing in at 8lbs 4oz, measuring 20 3/4in long!

His quilt goes perfectly w/the crib bumper!
That’s all I have for now. Until next time, Happy Quilting and God Bless!
