First things first, Scrappy Trips. I’ve actually started calling it my Everything Goes Scrappy Trips. Here are pics of 4 of the quadrants.
I didn’t stop there though. I have a king size bed and I want my quilt wider than longer (more drop on sides, because I don’t ever make my bed where the pillows are covered, I just throw the pillows on top). The blocks are 12″ but 8 x 8 (96″ square) wouldn’t work, so I jumped up to 10 x 8 (120″ x 96″). But that was a bit, A LOT overzealous of me because it made the sides WAY too long!
I removed a row of blocks off the longer side and now it’s 9 x 8 (108″ x 96′) and I like it much better. I’m not sure when I will quilt it but I’m ecstatic the top is done!
And then I finished baby boy’s quilt. He’s due in July so I am way ahead of schedule on this project. I wanted it to be a surprise but I inadvertently sent this pic to my niece (instead of my sis) so she already knows what it looks like. But oh well, she loves it. It’s going to look even better after I wash it!
I guess that means I have to start quilting Meadowland and then work up the nerve to quilt my behemoth, Everything Goes Scrappy Trips! But first I think I might make a couple more scrappy trips. Since I started quilting in 2011 I can’t ever remember wanting to immediately make another of the quilt I just finished. But I immensely enjoyed making scrappy trips!

LOVE your Scrappy Trips! I’ve made one, but it just looked muddy (poor fabric choices?), but your’s looks bright and vibrant! I really like the baby quilt too – especially the “shaded” effect.
Do you do all your quilting on a domestic machine?
Well, if you can’t take a trip, you may as well make scrappy trips, right?! I love all the colors in yours, and that is a big quilt! How fun. I have a mini postage stamp quilt that was made by my grandfather’s sister. She made it well before the era of strip quilting came into play, and it is a full-size, almost queen, quilt. It is well loved, and terribly worn. My mother never liked it, but I always did. So glad I have it now. She would be happy to know it is being used!

Wow. That is a big scrappy trips! I was able to use up a lot of old drab prints on mine by mixing them in with brighter fabrics.
