Welp, I’ve been living in KCMO for a whole month now. It flew by but it also feels like I’ve been here forever if that makes any sense.
My eldest son flew w/me to help carry-on my pets BUT my pets ended up not being able to fly w/us because I purchased hard carriers instead of soft and they were too tall to fit under the seat of the AA plane. Long story short, my sis and nephew flew them out to me a few weeks later and visited for a couple of days. It rained the entire time they were here but I still showed her around the city and introduced her to delicious burnt ends at Joe’s Kansas City.
The pets are now settled in. Moe really enjoys the big yard but Inka hasn’t ventured out yet. I’m sure she will soon.
The only thing I don’t like about the Midwest so far is the creepy, crawlin’ Charlottes. That’s what I call spiders. This cute little house must’ve been empty and untreated for several months because Charlotte’s webs were covering all the bushes and shrubs outside and all over in the garage. I promptly ordered pest control because I can’t stand creepy, crawlin’ Charlottes! I ONLY like spiders and webs as quilt designs! If you look closely at this next pic you can see Charlotte’s Web in the trees. I gotta be real careful where I walk here.
I saved setting up my sewing room until 2 days after the pest control guy came out to ensure I wouldn’t see any half-dying Charlottes trying to escape their inevitable death down in the basement.
Work is everything I knew it would be and it keeps me super busy but I have managed to bind two quilts; my Halloween Scrappy Webs and Autumn Arkansas Traveler. I had them both quilted by Linda Powell @itsallaboutthequilt (IG) before I left AZ.
Oh yeah…I found a church! I have visited several but have settled on and enjoy attending Relevant Church and I’m looking forward to starting the Priscilla Shirer’s Armor of God Bible Study next week.
Until next time, Happy Stitchin’ and God Bless!

Looks like things are settling in pretty good for you. I’m with you on the crawlin’ Charlottes! Your place looks real nice and cozy for you. Your cat is a sure beauty! I love cats. So happy for you. Changes are real adventures. Glad you took the leap of faith and did this for your sweet self. You will thrive.
Thanks for the link to the Bible Study.
Your new home looks lovely, and I’m glad you are getting settled in. Not sure I would like the Charlottes down there either. The ones here in Minnesota are just pesky but not(?) dangerous. So glad you found a church, too! The Bible study sounds like a good one!
Looks like you are setting in well, from the photos every thing looks like you have been there for a while. Comfy and cozie! All the best in your new place!
My husband and I took a trip out your way and had some of the best BBQ EVER!!!
While I am glad that you are settling in, I am sad that you aren’t just down the 303 anymore. I got comfortable with the thought that I could see “whenever.” It is true, don’t realize how good you have it til it’s gone.” I miss you friend! But I am SO HAPPY FOR YOU! 🙂
The 2 quilts are just gorgeous!
I’m so glad your getting settled! Your house looks lovely and I like your backyard. Have fun sewing in your new place. Hugs,
What a wonderful home you have created for yourself. Love the pets, they are adorable. I have that Arkansas Traveler block bookmarked, love your version!!
