After not really feeling my first batch of mug rugs, I decided not to use any of the original Asian fabric after all.
I instead chose these blues, which still give off an Asian vibe. I like these much better. 
In addition to the Mock Logs block, I made one called Forest Paths. Both patterns are from Quilt Blocks Galore aka Quilter’s Cache.
It was quite the chore binding the first block, so I opted for a quick turn/birthing method on the second one. This suited me much better and it’ll be my method of choice for finishing any/all mug rugs I make in the future.

Your blue fabrics are just wonderful! Especially with the little white squares showing off their tiny blue flowers. The whole combination is complex and sophisticated.
