Thank you all for your kind comments regarding my uncle’s passing. My cousin loves the quilt I made for her. I finished it at about 1145a Saturday and left my house at 1230p. It was my fastest binding job ever. I love machine binding!
I’ve got a few WHOOMPS to share this week.
I finished the quilt top for the custom order that I got through my Etsy shop a few weeks ago, which is for a throw size (60″ x 75″) of the Hillside Houses Quilt. I finally cut into my new roll of batting. It is already basted and I will start quilting it this Sunday. I’m hoping to have it completely finished and ready to ship next Thursday. A pic is coming soon.
This week I sold another quilt listed in my Etsy shop. The wall hanging I made during the Hillside Houses QAL. I call it Evening Hillside Houses.
I had to add a sleeve to it, which is something I hadn’t done before but I got ‘er done. I used this handy dandy tutorial and watched this video. I shipped it yesterday.
I recently listed a few patterns in my Craftsy Pattern Store and am extremely pleased w/the number of sales I’ve had so far.
I finished the Christmas gift paper piecing project! Well…it’s not finished finished but the 20″ square top is finished and I must say, it’s pretty darn amazing! Now I just have to figure out how to quilt it. I’m also thinking about entering it in the Arizona Quilters Guild Quilt Show in March.
And lastly, I made a mug rug this week using this Tea Cup Pattern. I liked it much better as a flimsy.
I learned a couple of valuable lessons in quilting it.
1. I should use a walking foot for straight line quilting, no matter how small the project.
2. Binding projects this small is for the birds and I will not do it again.
Now I’d like to see what you did this week. Link up and share below. =)

Congrats on the sales! The quilt you made for your cousin is so beautiful. Love the colors/fabrics. And I hate binding tiny things too! Thanks for the link up!
Your Hillside Houses at Night is so beautiful Zenia! Congratulations on so much success with those sales – I can see why people are snapping up your work! Very glad, but not at all surprised, that your cousin loved er quilt.

Lovely hillside houses. I made one too…. mine got a little too detailed, turned into a great piece of art for my grand child, (and hopefully more) Sarah, She is 5 months old and just wants to chew on it now….. 😛
Anyway, it was a fun project and I made the largest size too.
Right now it is hanging at mom and dad;s apartment at Ashby Ponds.
Anyway, your other projects are superb. Love the hst quilt you made for your cousin. It is stunning.Your coffee cup mat is adorable. I need to make some of those!
Oh, and Thread for Life.
Yes, Never stop praying. I will not either, Zenia.
Machine binding rocks, doesn't it? I finally took the plunge one day when I had seven quilts that needed binding before the next day, and I've never looked back! Congrats on the Easy sales – I need to list some things in my shop too, I think!
Praise for Led Christmas Tree
I ordered a Led Christmas Tree from bizarkdeal.com. This tree has me excited for the winter holidays. Right now, we have it in our living room. It will make a great addition to the outdoors when winter comes, though. According to my husband (who couldn't wait for me to get home from work before he set it up), it was easy to put together and the LED lights are “the real deal” – he's a light expert, apparently (wink). The kids keep going in the room and ooo'ing and ahh'ing at the tree, too. The tree did come with a set of snowflakes. I am not sure if it's because it's just the start of fall, but I wasn't exactly in love with the way they hung on the tree. The lights on the snowflakes are a different brilliancy than the tree itself, so they sort of stood out. Maybe outside I'll get it? Also, because we haven't had it outside yet / for the winter, I do want to note that the cord is thinner and less rugged than I'd expect for an outdoor tree. We will have to test it later this year and see how that goes. All in all, a great decoration for your home. (Note – I was provided this tree for review; all opinions are 100% my own.)
