Progress on Spring/Summer Quilt

I got all of the hexagon halves sewn together, pressed and on the design wall last week!!!

Here are a couple of pics.
    First full draft.

Here’s my final draft…however…I’m liking the look of my previous draft better…and I’ve already started sewing this together. =(  It just about takes up my entire design wall however it’s going to shrink considerably when it’s all sewn together. The borders are going to have to be substantial if this is going to be a king size. Hmmm….

Something I really shouldn’t have been working on but the pattern was so cute and simple and I had this halloween fabric…I simply couldn’t resist! Trick or treat bags for my grand kids and nephew. It’s an Origami bag found on Whip Up Tutorials.  I plan on making a lined one for a friend’s birthday next month. I will post the pic.

So that’s all I have for today.
Happy Quilting!
A Thread for Life
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
Phil. 3: 12-14

  1. This quilt is just so amazing. I have to agree about the first draft vs. the final. Any chance you can scootch those reds over to the side? I like your final quote too, “press on”: very apropos for a quilter!!! (not to make light of the subject matter :-))

  2. Thank you Greta! I did some more rearranging…but I didn't scootch the reds over to the side. I'll post another pic later this evening. The scripture is very fitting for the quilter too =)
